Looking for a tasty takeaway lunch? Middleton is home to dozens of delicious restaurants, each with their own specialties. Here’s a look at some of our fans’ favorite sandwich spots.
- Sofra Family Bistro. This downtown destination serves authentic Albanian-American cuisine and is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss out on specialties like Eggs Benedict Florentine, the Hummus Sandwich (sun-dried tomato focaccia bread, cucumbers, feta, red onions tomatoes, roasted peppers) or the Salmon Club (grilled Alaskan salmon with bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, red onion and basil mayo on grilled sourdough).
- Gino’s Italian Deli. A classic Italian deli with all the traditional offerings (pastas, Italian sausage, salads, sauces and much more), Gino’s also makes some delectable submarine sandwiches. If you stop by for takeout, you can’t go wrong with the No. 1 (Italian sub with provolone, mortadella, salami, tomatoes, lettuce and green onion) or the No. 8 (a spicy capicola sub with tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, provolone cheese and hot mustard).
- Craftsman Table & Tap. This friendly restaurant on Frank Lloyd Wright Avenue near Pheasant Branch Conservancy is known for their great burgers and sandwiches, including the Pulled Brisket (braised brisket with smoked cheddar, caramelized onions and roasted garlic aioli on a toasted potato bun).
Vegetarian? Try the Heirloom Tomato Melt (heirloom tomatoes, smashed avocado, fresh mozzarella, basil and a balsamic reduction on crispy garlic bread).
- The Village Green. This downtown classic is well-known for its burgers, but also has several varieties of Reuben (the Village Reuben with bratwurst, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese is a particular favorite) and a good selection of classic sandwiches like BLTs, Roast Pork Loin, Summer Sausage and Grilled Cheese. Call for takeout or have a seat on their outdoor patio.
