Sometimes you need a pick-me-up, sometimes you’re looking for comfort in a cup. Explore Middleton's coffee shops...
Sometimes all that is needed for a little pick-me-up is a perfect cup of coffee. Whether looking for a morning shot of espresso, a seasonal flavored latte or perhaps a perfect cup to pair with something sweet, Middleton’s coffee shops will satisfy and delight.
Barriques
Enjoy a full coffee and espresso bar, select bakery items and a lunch menu at Barriques in downtown Middleton. Having opened in 2003, it is a well-known establishment to locals who enjoy dining in or eating on the sidewalk patio. Enjoy specialty drinks from their rotating seasonal menu, such as creamy maple pumpkin latte in the fall and white candy cane mocha in winter. Wine options are also available to enjoy or purchase by the bottle.
Grace Coffee Co.
Grace Coffee Co. sits on the corner of Parmenter Street and Hubbard Avenue downtown. The café is one not soon to be forgotten with its bright murals, modern furnishings and a dog-friendly atmosphere. On nice days, the “garage doors” will be open and patio seating is available. Find a full espresso and coffee bar, as well as bakery — with a delicious assortment of decadent breakfast and dessert items. Grace also offers a variety of breakfast and lunch items, as well as a cocktail menu for those in the mood for something with a little extra buzz.
Hubbard Avenue Diner
For a Middleton dining experience that locals (and tourists) continue to write home about, head to Hubbard Avenue Dinner. This diner is famous for delicious pie and classic diner favorites, from eggs benedict to meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Additionally, Hubbard Avenue Diner offers a variety of hot drinks, such as bottomless coffee, cappuccinos, lattes and chai tea lattes, because they know there’s no better way to compliment a satisfying meal or delicious baked good than with a cup of steaming hot coffee.
MOKA
If just looking for great coffee and a few breakfast options, MOKA’s drive-through off Century Avenue delivers quick coffee with a smile. If you’re not feeling coffee, MOKA all serves a variety of smoothies, shakes and teas. Don’t forget to add a container of MOKA Bites, housemade granola balls, to your order, they are sure to help power through the day.
Prairie Café & Bakery
A local café and bakery, offering a full espresso and coffee bar, breakfast, lunch and daily bakery specials. Everything, from the soups to the salads to the fresh bakery items are made in-house daily. Enjoy Collectivo coffee by the pump or a delicious latte while admiring the cafe’s beautiful architecture, modeled after Frank Lloyd Wright’s signature prairie and organic styles. Along with the delicious food, Prairie Café & Bakery displays local artwork on a rotating basis.
Scooter’s Coffee
If looking for a drive-thru with coffee and a breakfast menu, locally owned Scooter’s Coffee is on University Avenue, a perfect location for grabbing a coffee on the way to Lake Mendota. Scooter’s also has indoor seating.
Sofra Family Bistro
Experience the taste of authentic Albanian food when dining at Sofra Family Bistro. Whether you choose to order an Albanian skillet or black cherry crepes for breakfast or the Sonoma panini or Sofra burger for lunch, make sure to start your meal off with a cup of Turkish coffee, made with very finely ground coffee beans and brewed in a boiling copper pot (also known as a “cezve”).
Starbucks
A popular chain coffee house, offering specialty coffee drinks, tea, baked goods and a variety of small bites and food. Middleton has two Starbucks — one near Greenway Station (west side) and one on Allen Boulevard (east side).
