By 1852 it was converted into a hotel and tavern and named “The Pheasant Branch Hotel.” Guests roomed upstairs and corralled their horses in the back.

Venue Info

The Stamm House, built in 1847, has served the Middleton community as a service station, hotel and tavern, speakeasy during the prohibition, supper club and now a staple Middleton restaurant. The building has since been restored to its original stone walls, ceiling, and wine cellar, all with modern restaurant systems. The Stamm House offers lunch, dinner, Friday Fish Fry, Saturday and Sunday Brunch, as well as a full bar. The restaurant has a banquet capacity of 26 but larger groups may rent the entire restaurant. The restaurant’s “1847 Chef’s Cave” also accepts reservations for private parties of up to 8 people. The chef creates a unique menu for each tasting booked in the Cave; private dinner parties may also reserve the space when it’s available.
