Splish, splash and smile

One of Middleton’s popular attractions delights kids of all ages, while keeping them cool on warm summer days. The Splash Pad at Lakeview Park is a watery wonderland that entertains little ones with whimsical water features. It’s a great way to keep the kids cool this season without traveling to an expensive water park or waiting in long lines. Here’s a quick guide to Middleton’s Splash Pad.

Location

The Splash Pad is a part of Lakeview Park on Middleton’s east side. Located at 6300 Mendota Avenue, Lakeview Park is Middleton’s largest community park, a pleasant green space near Lake Mendota. See a video of the splash pad here.

Hours

The Splash Pad is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. On warm summer afternoons, it’s a popular place, but it’s expansive enough to entertain large groups of kids. The Splash Pad is closed for the 2023 season and will reopen in late May 2024.

Cost

The Splash Pad is completely free! It was constructed with generous grants from the Madison Community Foundation and American Girl Fund for Children.

Near the pad

Lakeview Park has a lot to offer families. There’s an adjacent playground, shelter and picnic area that’s good for families to relax after some time in the water. The park features a variety of other recreational opportunities, including a playing field, three playground areas for children ages 5 to 12, a baseball diamond, tennis courts, soccer fields, LifeTrail Exercise Stations and hiking trails. There are also ADA-accessible piers that can be used for fishing.
